Evy-boo

My sis and I were talking today about our children.  We came to this conclusion:  it’s pretty amazing the fact that our kids adore us—no strings attached.  And that’s just how little kids are when it comes to their mothers—they are completely into us.  What a blessing that is!  Soon enough they will not be so interested and will probably value friends more than dear old mom.

Sometimes I call Evelyn Evy-boo.  So I thought it was so cute when I pulled this out of her school backpack--  Mom-boo, I love you.  And then the darling picture of she and Dane on the swings at our park—I’m standing on the side swinging the two.  I don’t know why this picture touched me the way it did.  She always draws pictures for me—at least a couple every day.  But for some reason I felt very happy when I saw this one.  It really illustrates the simplicity of our life and it makes me realize just how lucky I am  to be a mom with an adoring fan.  I hardly deserve it, but I’m grateful just the same!
