My dear friend Mara, is getting married in May! I love this girl—she is an amazing friend and has been a huge blessing in my life. So, of course I was thrilled to throw a fun party in her honor. And it was a wonderful party with lots of girl talk and laughter.
All that being said, I really can’t take the slightest bit of credit for any of the fun. Abby—another extremely talented and dear friend—saw to most of the planning and details. She thought of everything (probably because she’s a professional designer!) I loved the color palette she chose and the origami type details (cootie catchers for the popcorn, décor, and invitations.) It was darling. She put together such a sweet movie for Mara in which Danny answered fun questions about their dating history--it was very romantic and touched all of us! All the gals contributed to the fun by bringing in various dishes. I think the hit of the party might have been Julie’s pina coladas—they were so delicious! It was awesome to have the young women there to join as well. And so kind of them to stay late to help me clean up!
It was just a very wonderful night. I think mostly because we were all so very happy for Mara. She is such an example—has gone through so much and yet has pulled through with the most positive attitude and a testimony so bright and beautiful.
That’s really what made the night special—watching her enjoy this happiness she deserves so much! Can’t wait for our fun road trip up to Boston for the temple ceremony! I’m going to attempt leaving the kids (including Grant) with Blake—wish me luck!
