My Mom came into town to spend the week with us -she left this morning. We had such a great time together. Every day was so wonderful. My Mom was such a good sport. She spent the nights on our hideaway bed downstairs (not comfy-cozy), with the sun beaming in at 5am and kids streaming down at 6:45am. She walked around for hours in the very hot, humid sun while we did all sorts of sight seeing and shopping, never once complaining. She helped me in so many ways with the kids, cleaning up, baking and such. But mostly, it was just wonderful
to have her here for all of the great conversations. She really is such an amazing person and I just love being around her. That is by far and away the most difficult thing about living in NY. A lot of my friends have emailed and asked if I really like it out here as much as it appears on the blog... and really I do! It's great! The only sad thing is that we are away from
our family- both Blake's and mine. We miss them all so much and it breaks our heart to be so far away.
I just treasure the weeks here and there that we are able to visit one another. And I try to focus on the blessings of family- despite the distance. I feel so greatly blessed to have a mother whom I love so much, and who has taught me so much and continues to teach me every day by her example and love.
Thank you Mom! I miss you already.
