This weekend we drove up to Queens for the US Open. There was a Children's Festival and so the grounds were open to families for strolling around, shopping, eating, and watching the tennis pros practice before the competition. It was so much fun! We had never been up to Queens- but we highly recommend Flushing Meadows if you are ever on an extended vacation in New York City. The park is beautiful- there is a gorgeous antique merry-go-round, a zoo, the Queens Art Museum, and unique water features everywhere. We definitely needed those.. it was a hot day!
