Weekend Happenings

Hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. We had quite an experience watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade....crowded is an understatement.  I don’t think I  really knew the meaning of crowded until I attended this event!  Well worth it, none-the-less. We really enjoyed the night before Thanksgiving, as we took the subway up to the American Museum of Natural History and watched the parade staff inflate the giant balloons.  That was more fun than the actual parade for the kids because they were able to see the balloons up close.

We celebrated Evy’s birthday by visiting the Bronx Zoo.  That was a big hit for both of our kids.  Lots of amazing animals.  Evelyn opened up her gifts and loved her digital camera from my parents and her dress up clothes from Blake’s parents.  She also loved her little scooter that Blake and I had given her. She enjoyed Blake and I chanting,  “anything for the birthday girl” all day long.

We had the wonderful opportunity to see our good friends the Glass family from Arizona- in town visiting.  Their kids had grown so much in just the short six months since we’ve been gone.  It was great to visit with them.

On Saturday we went into town to see the Rockafeller Tree and to visit some of the cute little holiday fair shops set up in Bryant Park.  Darling home made dolls, jewelry, hats, treats.  I posted a picture of the cute little home-made bunnies I found in one shop- wouldn’t that be cute to make?  Of course, I had to buy one for Evy.  Don’t worry,  she’s not spoiled or anything—ha!

I highly recommend taking a trip to visit us during the holiday season!  New York at this time of year is wonderful!
