It continues to be rather chilly around here! It's actually getting better... but I'm thinking I've been wearing my heavy winter coat long enough!
Lucky for us, we had a wonderful visit from dear friends to brighten up our week. The Lowrys came down from Rochester to stay the weekend. Marcus and Blake took off to a conference early Friday morning, while Alicia and I entertained the kids by walking around the neighborhood, picking up pizza fixins' from the local pizza parlor, baking pizzas, walking up to our little movie theatre and watching a show. The little girls were thoroughly entertained; Dane and Lucas did pretty well, despite their limited attention spans!
We were blessed with gorgeous weather on Saturday and so we headed to Central Park and explored the playgrounds, ponds, and trails. Sweet little Ellie wanted to see all of the various places in Central Park in which Giselle from Enchanted had lived out her fairy tale. We had so much fun! The kids were behaving quite well, and so we made the decision to take them to the American Museum of Natural History. Two words could sum up that experience: VERY crowded! But, we made it through and arrived home in time for Marcus and Alicia to head off to see Lion King. At home, the rest of us had a fun slumber party; of course, upon Ellie's request we watched Enchanted....such a cute movie!
It was a great weekend and we enjoyed every second of it. As much as I love New York City, I certainly don't consider it home.... and I really miss family and old friends. It is always such a joy when we have visitors~ helps to fill our time out here with very special memories.
