Annual Progressive Dinner

This is really such a fun tradition!  Our friends here have been doing this for a while now- every December and we've been so excited to join in on the fun.
We all live within walking distance of one another- so that makes it easy and fun to see the Christmas lights around town,  all the while walking off those dinner pounds!

I'm sorry, but I must brag for a moment about our friends.  Our first course was appetizers-- at the Riches home.  These guys are so creative.  And I've said this before, but you really should check out her website-- Katie is always doing something inventive and unique.  Can you see how they've decorated for Christmas?  They found branches at the park and then used them to decorate all of their walls with ribbon, and tacks!

Then, off to soup at the Lows- another talented friend.   Abby is a graphic designer and I had to include this invitation that she created for the event.  She drew the images on the invite and they look exactly like our apartment buildings!  Also- if you check out the Christmas plates pictured below, Abby designed those while working at Kate Spade.

Ok- next we walked to the Cliftons-  where we had our main course.  Sara and Rusty had cooked up such a delicious feast, despite a sick baby and little sleep!  Of course, the Cliftons' apartment was beautifully decorated as well,  but I didn't get any pictures - because I was off to prepare for the last course of the evening at our place!

Blake and I were in charge of dessert- with Angie and Spencer's help.  We served chocolate bundt, ice cream cake, and banana cream pie.  And then Angie handed out these darling Christmas mulled spices- pictured below.  You add all of the ingredients to boiling water- and presto~your home smells amazing.  Such a cute idea.

I know I bragged a bit in this post about our friends, but I really am so amazed by all of them.  A huge thank you to Mara for organizing the event.  She's always the planner behind everything we do!

It was a wonderful and festive evening.
