Cathy’s mother-in-law, MaryLynn, came into town this week and she invited us to a luncheon at the American Girl Place in Manhattan. Evelyn was so excited!!! It’s always fun for me to take just one of the kids into the city, because it is so much less stress than taking two! And then I am able to relax and enjoy the company of that one child so much more. So, the subway ride was smooth- we even had a small group of drummers serenade us to Evelyn’s delight (she loves to give money to the musicians on the subway.)
The American Girl Café was beautiful—really, a little girl’s dream. The dolls have booster seats and sit right there next to you throughout each course. All of the food is so cute, and perfect for children—bite sized hotdogs, hamburgers, pretzels, veggies; even a beautiful chocolate dessert with a flower that you can take home with you. Of course after the meal, it was fun to browse around the store and Evelyn picked out a sweet little Bitty Baby as a special treat for Valentine’s Day. Such a fun time! Thank you MaryLynn!
