Almost Summer!

We’ve been expecting summer weather all month. Instead, it’s been quite a wet and rainy time out here in Brooklyn! Still, there are always those fun springtime activities that we’ve come to look forward to. Fruit vendors on the street corners are always selling the most delicious cherries this time of year, and Evelyn is a huge fan.

Picnics are a favorite pastime at Prospect Park in the spring. Most everyone lives in apartments out here—and rarely does anyone have a backyard. This makes our HUGE neighborhood park a daily destination.

And one might consider trekking to the park for outdoor play an inconvenience, but actually there are many perks. The greatest being consistent gathering of friends. The kids are always playing with their best little friends from church and the neighborhood. Of course, these pictures here document a sad day—our last picnic with the Bachmans as they are leaving this week!

And last but not least, a few pictures from the awesome street fairs that are held every June in Brooklyn. Imagine, walking out of your front door and finding a huge amount of people, music, food, rides, and fun right on your very street. It’s quite a thrill and the kids love strolling down the lane, eating treats and watching the performers.

So, although we haven’t had the warm weather we’ve been hoping for… we’ve definitely had a full month and no matter the season, we love our little neighborhood very much!
