Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve we took the subway into Manhattan with our friends- the Phillips- and had such a festive time. The Rockefeller Tree was stunning and the kids appreciated it more this year than last. Manhattan is an interesting place to visit at Christmastime--there truly is a Santa on every corner-- in fact, there were lots of interesting characters on every corner—including Elmo, Cookie Monster, SpongeBob, Mickey Mouse, etc. All of them eager to collect tips for pictures.

Evelyn and her little friend Delia wanted so much to ice skate at Bryant Park, but alas, the line was much too long (story of our life out here). So they settled for a ride on the merry go round and then a cup of Belgian hot cocoa at the French café across the street.

After our little city adventure, we ordered our favorite Chinese, opened Christmas pajamas and made gingerbread houses. The only thing missing was family. We miss them like crazy—especially during the holidays.
