We always joke around in our apartment building about pajamas—the reason? We all find it quite acceptable to walk around in our nightwear-- from apartment to apartment; dropping off kids, returning tuperware, etc. Last night we made it official and had a pajama/pizza party. Criswell really stepped up his game with this get up and we were laughing over it.
Completely unrelated, we had a very rushed morning today as we attempted to make it to church on time. Then as we walked out of the apartment to our car, we realized it was absolutely FREEZING. I mean, it’s always cold here in January… but today so bitterly cold that we were really feeling it. And I’ll admit, I wasn’t in the best of moods. But then Blake commented, “I don’t know what’s worse… walking out to find a dog has urinated right outside of your car, or walking out to find a dog has urinated right outside of your car and it’s frozen over.” Anyway, it lightened the mood and I was laughing as I always do at Blake’s sense of humor.
At church, our Bishop discussed good habits and told us that he and his wife always sing hymns to their children as lullabies before bedtime. I really liked this idea and tonight I tried it with our kids. It was very sweet, for the first verse and half of the second verse. After that, Dane touched my lips and signed “all done”. He doesn’t much care for music right now. I’ll have to ease him into this good habit.
