Walking to the park:
Evelyn: Mom, I want to be an actor on TV when I grow up.
Me: Oh really? Like a movie star! (chuckle)
Evelyn: what’s funny mom?
Me: well, I wanted to be a star when I was a little girl too- so I think it’s cute that you and I are the same like that.
Evy: (very enthusiastically) Mom! You want to be a star too?? You really should be a star! You look like a star!
Me: grinning ear to ear and feeling very flattered by my five year old daughter who rarely provides any type of positive commentary on the way I look.
Watching American Idol; Casey (the good lookin’ Texan) is arriving in his hometown
Evy: Mom, why are all those girls yelling and screaming at Casey?
Me: Well, I think it’s because they think he’s cute.
Evy: I don’t think any boy is cute! And I’m not going to think a boy is cute for a whole long time. Probably not until I’m an adult, like in collage. Is that the right thing, Mom?
Me: Absolutely!
