Really into snails

She spends all of her spare moments out back looking for and then capturing these slimy creatures.  Dane’s been known to catch quite a few himself.  He’s not nearly as fascinated and always passes them along to his big sis for her collection.  Evy has a jar with leaves, dirt, and other insects.  Once she’s captured them, she asks me for a paper plate.  She then takes each snail out one by one and examines, talks to, plays with and cares for these lucky little guys.  And at the end of the day, she lets them go free (thankfully!)

Evy’s other interests currently include: choreography, farmers markets, making money and fruit kabobs.

Here are a few snapshots of her latest routine.

Last Wednesday at the market, she asked that we buy radishes and flowers—she loves picking out veggies and flowers in the most vibrant colors she can find.

Mara, Danny and Evelyn making money at our joint stoop sale.  Evelyn manned the booth almost the entire time! Even in the sweltering heat—she was a champ!

She was so excited to tell the costumers how much we were selling each item for.  She stashed away most of the cash for an American Girl wardrobe she wants to buy in order to hang up Julie’s clothing.  Believe me, I know it’s a strange thing for a little girl to want, but she is obsessed!

A picture of the fruit kabobs we made at her insistence. Turned out pretty yummy!
