glasses

I must mention so that she will remember one day this darling little story.  Evelyn came home from school about a month ago in dire need of "glasses."

You see.... a few girls in her class wear glasses and she decided that, well,  glasses were pretty darned cool and she wanted the same opportunity as the rest to wear them about.

So, we discussed the fact that because she doesn't actually need  glasses, by wearing them around, she could possibly harm her eye-sight.

Hmmm.... a dilemma.  BUT, don't think for a minute that our clever little girl would give up so easily!  No indeed! She had a ready-made solution within minutes.  She would buy glasses and then pop the glass pieces out so that her eyesight would remain in-tact, and yet her goal would be accomplished. So it was that we headed to Rite-aid, allowance money in hand,  to find our Evelyn some glasses.

And this little person has worn her glasses pretty much every day since.  Even to school (with permission from her teacher of course).  And particularly in the evenings when she is reading stories to her younger brothers, they come in quite handy.
