A few fun shots of our annual pumpkin carving... truly one of Evelyn's most beloved activities of the year. She is always prepared with a drawing and does not skip a beat in her duty.... guiding Dad and reminding him of each exact shape or curve. But Dad did surprise her this year by carving a heart instead of a circle out of the topper! And she was quite thrilled by this artistic liberty he took. The boys changed it up a bit by painting their pumpkins rather than carving. Mostly because we ran short of time! Unbelievably, we waited until Halloween night this year to do our carving. So not like the Marston family! I guess having a fourth child will do that to you! I'm just not on my game at all these days and I find that I must let a few things slide. I think the boys had fun anyhow.

After carving concluded, all children reported to the "garden" to plant mounds and mounds of pumpkin goop and seeds under the ground. And now a favorite activity is checking on our pumpkin plants numerous times a day to see if they have grown at all.
