Fishing Trip!

Dane has wanted desperately to catch a fish for quite some time now.  Blake has taken him on a few excursions to our local lake.... and it's been fun, but unsuccessful in terms of actually catching a fish!  And in Dane's little mind, that just hasn't been good enough!  So, on our trip to WA my parents found a little farm and lake property that pretty much guaranteed a fish to take home.  The kids had the time of their lives feeding the various animals, petting bunnies and kitties, running away from wandering goats, and horseback riding.  Such a cute little farm!  And then the cherry on top was the fishing experience.  Dane was thrilled-- he had the time of his little life and after catching his own fish, passionately helped to net/scoop up everyone else's fish.  Wasn't too keen on the whole killing the fish afterwards by hitting it on a rock (side note: Grant LOVED that part!) But he was euphoric as we packaged up our fish to cook up later at home.  Papa knows his stuff when it comes to grilling fish and the kids had a ball seasoning and buttering their very own meal.  It was quite the experience for everyone! We loved it.
