Well... as usual, it's been a busy month thus far!
Dane and Grant have continued soccer practice two evenings a week; Evelyn is still very interested in voice and piano. Evelyn and Dane have joined the swim team for the summer and they practice three times a week in the afternoons. Grant is taking swim lessons at that same time, which works nicely. And Anna? Well...she is typically wreaking havoc for the duration of that hour-long swim session. Running on the slippery pavement, entering pools she shouldn't be entering, throwing tantrums as it is the witching hour... you know, all that good stuff!
At home, Ev spends a good portion of her time knitting. She AMAZES me with her creations. I mean to say... look at this teddy bear!?! Girlfriend figured it out by watching a youtube tutorial!
Dane is just so cute... he is my best helper and such a dear. I love the conversations we have. This week the kids attended vacation bible school. He came running home today with a big huge kid's bible from the camp. The other kids hadn't received such a prize. He told me it was because he had told the counselors that he wasn't sure yet if he could "accept Jesus". He needed to think on it and figure it out... he'd get back to them. I guess they were trying to help him in this process by sending him home with the bible! No wonder they were so complimentary of me and my kids as we left today.... probably felt sorry that we had no religion in our lives. But later as we discussed it, he had very valid reasons for denying them. He wasn't sure of what they were asking and he wanted to check in with Blake and I before committing to something. He is so logical and so unwilling to bend to any type of peer pressure. He wrote this in his journal the other day. Love it:

Totally made over $20 this month selling lemonade and rice krispie treats.... oh, and hot wheels and baseball cards. They loved every second!

Grandma and Grandpa brought over a tub or two of fun momentos of Blake's past. Old uniforms, trophies, scout books. Loved this shadow box full of Boy Scout badges. So glad I married an Eagle Scout!
Earlier in the month I was called to be the Primary President! Feeling very overwhelmed but also grateful for the opportunity to serve the amazing children in our church congregation. A dear friend (and also previous president) knew that I wanted a panini press for the summer to mix it up with the kids lunches. She presented me with the panini press and a card that said "PRESS" forward. She had gone around and had my friends sign the card with encouraging words and thoughts. It was very touching and gave me such a boost!
Blake started working at another office four times a month-- out in Temecula-- and our family enjoyed meeting his staff over there at a fun promotional carnival the office sponsored. Highlights were the balloon man, and the tooth fairy!

Decorated the house for the 4th of july and it looks so festive! I love it!
A teenager rear-ended me and it's been such a pain to deal with. But as Evelyn put it "at least no one was hurt!"

Random... but aren't these primary bulletin boards so darling? My friend does them and I'm always beyond impressed with her creativity! The theme this year is: Family are Forever. She collected a few pictures of the kids' ancestors and put this board together last week. Love it!
This was created using embroidery thread and nails.
A close up. Again, using embroidery thread for a pop of color:

We had SUCH an amazing weekend with the Bachmans in town!!! Man, I love those guys and love when we have the chance to be together, even if it's just for a short while. It always feels like I'm walking down the streets of Brooklyn when Cathy and I are together-- we spent three good years being best buds while our kids were babes and it's always a joy to spend time together, reminiscing those days....even years later.
We had a great time celebrating our good friend (and Bishop's wife) Laura at La Jolla Shores last weekend. It was her 40th birthday... although she doesn't look a day over 30! The kids sure love being at the beach. Pretty much the best place ever for a birthday party!~
Lastly... we had a wonderful time with friends last Monday night for our Family Home Evening. Evelyn gave most of the lesson on being an Everyday Christian. I was very proud of her for learning her part of the lesson and (surprise) not being at all shy teaching a room full of people! We had a nacho bar and drink station.... chocolate chip cookies and ice cream for dessert. Best part was a great group of friends gathered together for the evening. Will definitely do that again!

Cute picture of my sister's decorated twins! That June!!
LAST but not LEAST.... my mom sent me this cute pictures of herself as a kid. She's in the middle with the darling smile and curly hair. I love it!!!
