My parents love the Beatles song: When I'm 64. So we always knew there would be a fun celebration coming up this fall with both my Mom and Dad turning 64! And boy was it ever. SO much fun having the entire crew fly down from Seattle for a Disneyland vacation at an amazing Disney themed house. Now, I'd be lying if I didn't say I had my reservations about 16 grandchildren all under one roof! I was nervous no one would sleep and life would be pretty dang chaotic at the house. I think we all feared the possibility of chaos. But in reality, the home was absolutely perfect and the kids were good as gold. It helped that there was a darling backyard with places to sit and relax, a big pool and hot tub and then inside pool/foosball room and even a ball pit! The kids had their choice of a Marvel Comics room or a Frozen room. The adults had plenty of space to camp out and babies were everywhere! Upon arrival, my parents set up a fun little easter egg hunt where each grandchild and each adult child received cash!! It was pretty fun to receive such an awesome gift when we were already feeling spoiled being there together in the first place! We LOVED doing Disneyland all together. At times we walked along as a big group, but often we split up and younger kids with parents went in one direction while the older kids went in another. I absolutely adore Disneyland during Halloween. It was decorated so amazingly and villains were everywhere. We watched both the Disneyland Parade (Blake's favorite) and the Pixar Parade. We rode each ride at least twice... hardly any crowds on Thursday and Friday. So excited that Anna was tall enough to ride Splash mountain, Thunder Mountain and Tower of Terror! She was such a brave soul! The boys rode all the scary rides as well as they had Adam and Noah there-- talking them into it all. Saturday was a bit chaotic so we didn't last as long. Luckily we enjoyed a character breakfast that morning and then left early- mostly to celebrate mom and dad. We opened presents, had cake and ice cream and played a charades game with facts to describe mom and dad. On Sunday we worked as a team to pack up and clean up and head out for our family pictures at the park. SUCH a hot day and windy to boot! But we got it done and rewarded ourselves with Cafe Rio afterwards. I think everyone's hearts were heavy saying goodbye to such a special few days. I know mine was. We always have the best time together and I was so grateful to my parents for planning such a great trip. Love them so much!
