Grant's Chuck E Cheese Birthday!

Oh my goodness! What can I say about my little Grant? He is such a fireball!  He has more energy than anyone I know and more passion and spirit too.  He is so tender underneath all that craziness.  He is kind and loving, but also very confident and a true leader on the soccer field and in his classroom.  I’ve had many teachers and parents tell me what a great kid Grant is… how he is helpful and kind and giving.  It never surprises me at all.  For his birthday, Grant made out like a bandit and received quite a bit of money.  Before he even closed his eyes for bed, he had already decided he wanted to give some of that money to people who needed it more than he did.  It was so sweet.  With the kindness, also comes some of the impulsivity and hyper behavior. Right now Grant is working on a chart to help him make good choices… called Grant’s Good Choices chart.  He earns a sticker for every good choice he makes to get up and get ready for the day;  do his homework, get ready for soccer, brush his teeth, avoid teasing Anna and beating up on Dane.  These are struggles he faces daily!  But he has been doing marvelously in his attempt to get his behavior on the right track.  I’m very proud of him.  For his birthday, Grant wanted nothing more than to have a party at Chuck E Cheese.  Well… we’ve never done this before! We always have parties at our house. So this was new to us.  But it ended up being such a fun evening.  Grant invited 10 friends along with his siblings and the boys had a blast running around playing games, eating pizza and cupcakes, singing with Chuck E and watching Grant go in the Ticket Blaster.  This was the ULTIMATE for Grant.  His very dreams coming true before his eyes.  He’d always wanted to go in the Ticket Blaster.  It was seriously so so so cute.  Love that little fireball.  At the end of the night, Grant gave each of his friends a hug. It was just all the tenderness I’ve alluded to before…how can someone so wild, also be so sweet?  For Grant’s birthday, he received a little motorized motorcycle just like Dane’s.  He also received lots and lots of legos and a few games and puzzles. Love our little birthday boy!!!
