The Wizard of Oz

Oh my goodness!  Can't believe what a wonderful production Evelyn had the opportunity to be a part of.   It was a TON of hard work, long hours, make up, costume changes, running around, dancing around, and performing her little heart out... but in the end, it was absolutely fabulous and such a great experience!  We adored the director, Lori Grimes, and her daughter Ragan.  Loved the kids and the families we became friends with.  All the driving up to Escondido was probably the only part we weren't as thrilled over... but it was a small sacrifice for such a great production.  Evelyn was a munchkin and a jitterbug, snow, and an optimistic voice.  She danced her little heart out and was a natural on stage- sparkling the whole time.  I was so proud of her.  I loved being there all of tech week to help the kids get to stage on time and change costumes, get props, etc.  I love everything theatre so I vicariously live through Evelyn during these productions- ha! Poor girl was about as tired as you could possibly be at the end, but I think the show helped her realize that amazing things never come easy! We are currently trying to decide if we can muster up the energy for Lion King starting in January!  We'll have to see!
