Marston Family Christmas

Our annual Marston family Christmas weekend was so much fun this year. It always is!  Grandma and Grandpa heated the pool... this year they had an awesome new toy that the kids (and Blake) enjoyed .... though it was cold outside, the pool was so warm and it made for a fun afternoon of lounging in the sun and sitting in the hot tub.  We ate Grandpa's delicious prime rib and Grandma's potatoes for dinner.  Stacy brought delicious cookies from the bakery near her home- they are to die for! This year we changed things up a bit by skipping the caroling and Christmas lights in lieu of visiting the fire station with treats for the firemen on duty and taking a hike in the mountains nearby with the dogs.  Of course we watched "Elf" in jammys before bed and opened up Christmas presents along with games and family night that the kids and I put together.  We enjoyed a delicious Christmas breakfast with scrambled eggs, swiss pie and chocolate croissants.  The biggest highlight of the weekend was opening our present from Grandma and Grandpa--- a TRIP TO ALASKA!  So exciting for each and every one of us!  We could hardly believe how wonderful!  Sweet little Anna assumed we were leaving the next day and had quite the let down when we told her we were headed to the car to go home and not to the airport.  But it sure does give us something amazing to look forward to this summer!  We were so grateful and thrilled.  The entire weekend was a blast and we felt so blessed to spend time together celebrating the Christmas season.
