Today was hilarious! Blake and I had been ignoring the kids all week, desperately trying to finish "projects" in the apartment- ie: hanging pictures, putting together IKEA furniture, organizing closets, etc. So today we decided to do something strictly for them.
After browsing the internet, I discovered that there would be a fantastic Children's Festival in lower Manhattan. Dora the Explorer, Diego, Barney- they would all be there! Any child's nirvana. We packed up lunches, grabbed the subway, walked halfway around the world... and at last, arrived just in time to hear Barney blaring from the loud speaker. At this point, we looked down at the kids to see both sawing logs. Out cold! We were afraid to wake them for fear of the wrath of Evelyn before she's ready to wake up. So, here we stood in the hot sun, in the middle of this huge crowd, watching/listening to this Barney concert, while our kids were fast asleep in the stroller. I think Evy woke up for the last song. As I said, it was hilarious!
Well... at least we were able to sight see on the way home. We toured the financial district of Manhattan and saw the New York Stock Exchange, The Federal Hall, and The Trump Tower.
All in all... a fun day!!
