valentine’s day and other weekend happenings…

We had such a great valentine’s day.  Evelyn and I woke up bright and early and put together our strawberry waffle breakfast for Blake. We opened up cards and chocolate hearts.  Later, our friends came over and we frosted sugar cookies and distributed valentines.  In the evening, Blake took me to a wonderful restaurant called The View.  It’s located on the top of the Marriott Marquis in Manhattan; I loved it!  The food was great but the best part was the view (hence the name of the restaurant!!)

The entire top floor of the hotel slowly rotates 360 degrees so that while you dine, you can look out over all of Time Square.  Such a great night!

On Saturday morning, Evelyn and I rode the train into the city to see our good friends- the Bruggamens who were visiting from Seattle.  We went to brunch at a fun restaurant called Stardust Diner in Time Square.  All of the waiters and waitresses sang while delivering our food.  Evelyn loved it!  She sang along (loudly) and danced with a few of the staff members.  It was definitely a fun day for the two of us and so much fun visiting with our friends.  My only problem now is how to lose the 5 pounds I gained over the weekend! I think we did a little bit too much eating!!
