Blake attended a conference in Providence over the weekend ~ Evy, Dane and I tagged along. What a beautiful city it was. Of course, you wouldn’t know from my pictures! I was so excited to take a few shots of downtown and the gorgeous Roger Williams Park- but sadly, it rained on our last day there and so my photo shoot was scrapped. But do take my word for it- Rhode Island is a great place to visit.
While Blake was hard at work in lecture, the kids and I (along with my good friend Nikki and her son Caleb) visited the Roger Williams park and zoo- where we had all sorts of fun. For one, the kids were able to watch three elephants as they bathed. We were so close to these guys- it was a hoot for the kids. Dane entered a butterfly garden for the first time. It was cute to watch he and Caleb scream loudly at the butterflies. They were so thrilled... I’m not sure I’ve ever seen my little guy that excited before. Evelyn was bummed that the butterflies did not land on her hand as they had in DC. But she quickly cheered at the playground and carousel.
I wavered in my decision to join Blake as I knew he’d be busy for most of the weekend, but we had such a wonderful time ~ I’m so glad we decided to do it.
