I cannot say enough good about my dear friend Jodi who is living in Australia right now. Rewind seven years ago… I had just finished graduate school and landed a job in the Seattle area. I was a brand new school psychologist and I was terrified! I think I cried every night in anticipation for the next day. It was so much harder than I had imagined it would be! Jodi was an experienced Special Education teacher in one of the elementary schools I worked at and we bonded immediately. She was such a pro and she lifted me in every sense of the word. She taught me so much about these beautiful children with special needs and how to help them achieve success and happiness. She works so hard- and always has- to help those in need and to create a change in the world. The quote on her blog reads: Be the change that you want to see in the world. –Gandhi. A perfect theme for her life.
Last week Jodi sent a darling little package for the kids full of Australian goods- a fun kangaroo for Dane that sings “Waltzing Matilda” and a koala backpack for Evy. Books, puppets, etc. The kids were so excited; Evy hasn’t taken her koala backpack off yet! I’m sure Jodi won’t receive our thank you note for quite some time… so I thought I’d post it here. THANK YOU JODI!!
Oh- and on a side-note. My friend Maggie just re-did her photography site. It is beautiful! You must check it out here.
