This weekend we attended our church's annual chili cook-off... and we had a great time.
I realized two important things:
1. My friends are amazingly creative and talented. Check out some of the home-made costumes: Evelyn's friend Eve wore a bat costume- which I didn't capture completely, I'm sure my friend Katie will post on her blog some time soon: katiedid.squarespace.com/
Another friend, Brooklyn, wore a Grinch costume, while her little sister dressed as Cindy Lou Who. And remember, all of these costumes were home-made!
My friend Angie had the darling idea to dress as a smore with her cute little baby as the marshmallow filling.
2. I came to the conclusion as I have many times before, that my husband is a very funny man. Blake was in charge of Dane for the night ( I was helping with a fundraiser for our youth.) Well, Dane threw an absolute FIT about his cookie monster costume. Really, he did not want to wear the thing and it was miserable. So, Blake was forced to take the costume off, leaving Dane wearing only a shirt, socks and his diaper. Instead of being embarrassed by his half-naked child running wild through the church, Blake just told everyone that Dane had dressed up as Tom Cruise from Risky Business. I thought that was pretty funny.
Our friends, the Remingtons, surprised everyone by driving down from Connecticut to come to the party. We were so happy to see them. Evelyn was thrilled to see Michael- all dressed up as a knight. A very fun party!
