visit from my college roomie

I wanted to post these fun pictures of Christy’s visit.  We really had so much fun- I miss her already and she just left this afternoon!  I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful it is to have visitors in town.  It’s my chance to really live it up.  Poor Blake spends a lot of time babysitting… but he is so good to do it with little complaining.

Christy and I spent a lot of time in Manhattan.  We toured upper Manhattan- even Harlem.  Surprisingly, I’d never ventured that far up and so it was fascinating to learn more about the area. On the way up, our tour bus drove by the Manhattan Temple… thought I’d post a picture.  You can hardly tell it’s a temple with the way it is situated among all the other tall buildings.  The angel Moroni helps out a lot.  We visited a gorgeous Cathedral (St. Johns.)  It was amazing-- I was so impressed by the stained glass windows and the lovely architecture.

Chinatown is always fun- and we spent time there. My favorite was shopping in SoHo.  I’d wanted to check out this clothing store called Uniqlo- the only one in the US is located there--and some of my friends in fashion school had mentioned it was a neat place.  It really was!  Christy scored big time.  I think I would have too- if I’d had any money . J   But, really a cool store- one you should visit if you are ever in town.

Christy is so fun to pose for pictures.  She loves it- and is never embarrassed by all of my silly directions;  ie. look this way, chin down, turn around,  etc.  Even when others are watching- as they always do in the city!   I’ve never worked with such a cooperative model.  I needed some shots for my photography class- and she was so helpful.  Thought I’d post a few- just for fun.  It was a wonderful visit- and I’m grateful for such a wonderful friend.  Thanks Christy!
