I should have been addressing Christmas cards last night-- but instead I spent the evening messing around with photoshop. I love the vintage look- it's really cool, because it can hide many of the "challenges" within your image- lighting, focus, etc.
Well, unfortunately, there are a few obstacles that the vintage look can't save! For our Christmas picture this year, I set up a tri-pod and tried to make the whole thing a big game for the kids. I told them they had three seconds to quickly come back to Mom and Dad- before the timer took the picture. It was pretty fun and entertained us all. But Dane was the first to lose interest. He started climbing the stairs never to return and then the fun ended for me--as I wasn't getting any great shots. Here's one of the funny out-takes.
