Self-portrait

My winter semester of photography courses began this week.  One of my classes,  entitled “People Photography” required a self-portrait. It was a very flexible assignment-  and didn’t necessitate our actual face be in the picture.  My sister suggested that I check out a friend’s website (she had taken a few self-portraits and posted them on her photography blog.) I really liked this gal’s work and so I basically decided to use little creativity on my part, and copy her idea entirely.  I had Troy take the pictures- which he did a fabulous job of.

And then I realized after the shoot, while reviewing the pictures- that my ankles are not as cute as this other gal's ankles- and that  the pictures were not flattering in the least! Hmmm….back to the drawing board.

Poor Troy did the shoot a second time- after I had actually practiced standing in such a way that made my ankles look decent. I guess I didn’t realize that I stand a little bull-legged and that my ankles are a bit oddly shaped!  I’m only 32 and JUST realizing this!  Good to know though!

Of course, Evy witnessed the photo shoot and insisted that she also be photographed- in her pajamas and mom’s shoes.  Funny girl!
