What could be sweeter than sewing your daughter a beautiful new summer dress? Having your talented and generous sister do it for you!!! My sis just took up sewing this past year—and she is amazing at it. We both know the basics, because our mom has always been a very clever seamstress, but Jamie has really blossomed in her talent. I’m hoping she’ll teach me all she knows when I get my sewing machine back next year (currently in storage).
Everyone in Brooklyn is very much into home-made clothing. The gals at church sew their children’s clothing and their own clothing! Some of my closest friends even started their own clothing company. Everyone is so talented and I’ve regretted many times not bringing my machine out. At the time we moved, I wasn’t too interested, but I think I’ll be excited to learn again, maybe after our babe has grown a bit. Something tells me I won't have a whole lot of free time this coming year!
