Thanksgiving Ideas

My Mom has been in town helping with the kids- so we’ve had a little bit of time for Thanksgiving crafts. I’m kind of into turkeys—as you can tell by these pictures! They are so easy to create—and I love how abstract and unique you can make them.

For Halloween, our neighbors across the hall decorated our front door with all sorts of scary spiders and ghosts. So, to return the favor, Evelyn and I made a turkey sign for their door—and one for our own. It’s a fun surprise for their kids and ours!

Evy used circle sponge brushes to paint a few thanksgiving decorations for our front window. You can use fingerprints as well for the feathers and body.

Throughout the month, the kids have been telling me about the various blessings that they are grateful for—and I’ve been writing them on the feathers of this Thankful Turkey pictured below. We hang a few feathers a day --it’s a great way for the kids to focus on gratitude.

Lastly, my sis found this wonderful idea for a Thankful Jar--- inside are paper strips with various activities which help emphasize our blessings—cousins, food, eyes, scriptures, etc. So much fun. Click here for instructions.
