Cathy flew in from CA last weekend to meet Grant and to help me with the kids. She was so great to do this for me!!! I remember last year when she made the transition from two to three kids—she was such a pro—rarely did she seem overwhelmed. So- I’ve relied a lot on her sound advice this past month or so as I’ve tried to manage my life with three. Blake was good to watch Evy and Dane so that Cathy and I could go out and about. We had fun window shopping along 5th Ave, visiting the holiday markets at Union Square and Chelsea. We were very excited to go meet Pioneer Woman (the author of our favorite blog) as she was signing books in Manhattan on Saturday. Unfortunately, the line was a little too long for our taste. Instead, we chose to sneak to the back of the bookstore and just spy on the poor lady—there we could hear all of her conversations with the various fans and see that she is much prettier in person than in her pictures.
Cathy helped me to do all the kids’ Christmas shopping—which I had yet to even begin. It was so helpful and such a great weekend. We probably chatted more during this quick visit then we had all year -as we are typically interrupted by the children every other word. The only child we had to worry about this weekend couldn’t speak…so we were in heaven!
