I am definitely not an easy-going person! Having a newborn in the house is an adjustment and I knew I would become easily overwhelmed without help. So, it’s been wonderful to have my mom here, and then Blake’s week off. And now this past week we had Blake’s mom, aka Grandma in town to help! She was wonderful. The kids had so much fun and were entertained all day long from sun up to sun down. Dane especially enjoyed Grandma’s attention during the day while Evelyn was at school. And Evelyn was thrilled every afternoon to come home to all sorts of surprises and fun games. I was spoiled by Nancy’s amazing organization skills—she helped me clear the clutter I had let accumulate all around. It was such a great feeling to have everything in its place!
Unfortunately, Grandma had to deal with Dane’s double ear infection and strep throat, Evelyn’s urinary tract infection and on Grandma’s last night--Grant’s cold. You’d think we were running a hospital around here! I made so many trips to the doctors office—it was insane! That’s why I was more thankful than ever to have Nancy’s help with prodding and encouraging the kids to take their antibiotics (she promised to do a dance when they finished every single dose), and then just helping me babysit while I ran off in every direction and tend to the various needs of the kids throughout the week. It was such a blessing.
Nancy has always been the most wonderful mother-in-law that a gal could ask for. I knew right from the moment I met her that we would have a special relationship—and we do! She always has me laughing even in the midst of chaos. She finds humor in every situation and she helps everyone around her to feel happy and focus on the positive. We already miss her company around here!
