Evelyn has many friends who celebrate Hanukkah. As we went about delivering goodies to neighbors, she could hardly remember if she was to wish Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah—so by the end of the night she started to blur the two together for “Happy Christmas.”
She also informed me the other day that she would like to celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. Umm… we had quite the discussion afterwards. Evy has wondered many things about Christmas this year…. what is frankincense? myrrrh? Why did the little boy see his mommy kissing Santa Clause? Am I on the naughty or nice list?
It’s been fun to discuss in detail her thoughts. She’s picked up most of her questions from the Christmas music we have playing in the background every day. Favorite song by a landslide this year is “Little Drummer Boy.” It’s really cute to hear her belt it out.
