On the way up to the Christmas tree farm, I started to sing, “O Christmas Tree” with the kids and realized that I'd forgotten all the words! Only that very first line did I remember….o Christmas tree, o Christmas tree. I thought I knew the second line, but after looking it up, realized I was very wrong.
I love Vince Guaraldi’s instrumental version from Charlie Brown’s Christmas—it’s beautifully arranged and one of my favorite Christmas songs to listen to—but of course, there are no words in that arrangement. I think I'm losing brain cells on an hourly basis now with three kids! That explains the memory loss. Well, no matter-- the kids settled for "Jingle Bells" and "Silent Night". It was a lovely day.
