false flattery, but I'll take it!

At the doctor’s office today for Evelyn’s well check, I thought out loud, “what do we need to tell Dr. Sarnoff about you?”  Racking the few brain cells I have left after so many sleepless nights, I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing any pertinent information regarding the health of my 5 year-old daughter.  To this rhetorical question, Evelyn replied:

“I know!  Let’s tell him that I’m a very good girl, oh... and that I love my American Girl doll, and that my mommy is my best friend.”

I think she assumed I had some type of pull with the doc.  Pretty awesome flattery for a five year old--especially one who typically gives her mom very few props.

The girl was petrified of shots this visit,  though normally she’s quite good about these things. She must have asked me 10 different times if she would need a shot- as if I could possibly change the outcome!  I happened to have my camera with me (project 365) Here’s a picture of her before her shots—waiting in torturous anticipation. And here’s another picture afterward--- in front of Le Bagel Delight!  Fresh cinnamon rolls will put a smile on this girl’s face any day of the week.
