It kind of made my night when I asked the kids who wanted to bathe first. An emphatic “Not me!!” was the reply from Evelyn. And Dane just ran in the opposite direction. Typical. But so funny when Evy had the brilliant idea of flipping a coin. She quickly explained the process to Dane and to me as if I had no idea (she must have learned at school).
“ I choose head and Dane—you can have tails. So--if the coin lands on tails, then I take a bath… if it lands on head, then Dane takes a bath!” I gently corrected… “Evy- that’s a wonderful idea. Heads is Evy and tails is Dane.”
At this point Evelyn furrowed her brow and gently corrected me by pointing out the fact that there is only one head on the coin and therefore the term should in fact be head, rather than heads. And she did have a point.
