This year I have decided to attempt Project 365—a photo every day of the year. I’ve seen these project blogs before, but never thought to do it myself until my friend Cathy brought it up this year as a fun idea for us to do together. And now my sister is going to work on it as well! I love the concept of bringing your camera everywhere you go and then taking photographs of places, people, things that you normally might not. I was very motivated to do this while taking photography classes last year; I pushed myself and tried to think outside the box. Lately, though, I’ve been so tired and so busy that I haven’t been very creative at all. I’m hoping this project will allow me to work on my skills and help me get back into the groove.
I’m also thrilled to take photographs around my neighborhood and in all the places that I frequent, considering we only have a few short months left in NY! It’s a perfect time to document all of these lovely places that have grown so dear to me. Not to mention my friends! I don’t have nearly enough pictures of these awesome people who are important to our family out here. Even just taking a picture of Evelyn walking home from school is sweet for me. I want to remember our life out here and this is a perfect way to do that.
I guess occasionally I’ll post a few pictures here on this blog that didn’t make the 365 cut.
Evelyn walking home from school, Evy and Dane playing in the snow, the dangling snowman that Evelyn created to hang near our front window, the statue of liberty as you see it down our street, and one or our favorite little pizza places near our apartment.
