I debated driving out with Blake last week for his conference in DC. He would be staying at a hotel in the city, the kids and I would be staying with my dear friend, Shannon, in Virginia for an extended weekend. I knew it would be the last time I’d see her for a while with our upcoming move across the country. And I really wanted to go… but Grant had a double ear infection, and a cold. It’s not easy or fun to travel with a sick baby! Not to mention the fact that Shannon has five children of her own, her youngest being Grant’s age. I knew there would be the potential for chaos!
But in the end, I decided to go and am happy to report that I certainly made the right decision! Although the children were sick a portion of our stay; the fresh air, the land to roam and the cute little friends (Shannon’s boys) made for a great time concerning my little kiddos. And of course, I was just thrilled to have my friend to chat with throughout the day and into the evening hours. Shannon was a perfect hostess—and made our stay so comfortable and fun. We were even able to hire Janelle to watch the kids so that we could go browse the antiques in Leesburg one day. To top that, Shannon sent me to get a massage—if you can believe it. I was in heaven!!! It really was a great time and I’m so happy we had this last little get together before our move. THANKS Lamb family!
