Christmas

It was the perfect mix of fun, relaxation and chaos for our Christmas day 2017!  The kids were thrilled to find that Santa had brought them a ping pong table, a slack line,  a soccer rebounder (boys), a photo pop up stand (Ev) , and a big bunch of babies with all of their paraphenilia (Anna)!  Other gifts included: clothes, jewelry and make up for Evelyn, a big doll for Anna, lots of little toys, clothes, and shoes!  Cleats, scooters, jerseys, soccer balls, puzzles and games for the boys.  A badminton set and slammo from grandma and grandpa to the boys- a dress with matching doll dress for Anna and darling clothes/shoes for Evelyn! This along with their Disney trip!  Grammy and Papa had already given their amazing gift of a hotel stay and Universal Studios for the day!  The kids were thrilled with all of their gifts and we enjoyed a yummy breakfast of cinnamon rolls, bacon, eggs and waffles.  Blake spent the day putting together scooters, games, slack line, badminton, and so on and so forth!  I spent the day going around cleaning up messes and playing with the kids.  We ended on a wonderful note of tri-tip dinner (kids' favorite), sparkling apple cider, and leftover christmas cookies for dessert.  We went for a soak in the hot tub and then Blake and I went on our anniversary date (anniversary is the 26th) while Evelyn babysat the kids.  It was such a wonderful day and we felt so very blessed in every way!  As a mom, I was so happy to know that the greatest blessing on earth- better than any gift ever given, was the gift of being a mom and wife to such an awesome group of people.  I never understood how my own mom and dad could enjoy Christmas without getting any gifts!  And now it's so clear and so wonderfully powerful.  The blessings of the gospel and the family that we are blessed with are the only gifts we ever need.  Loved celebrating our Savior all throughout the month and the special spirit it brought to our home.
