Kid Update

Oh let's see.... it's been a busy soccer month for our little Anna!  She graduated from her first soccer course and moved on up to Micro-classes at NCSP.  She is loving it and we are loving watching her play!  So fun for her to receive a medal.  Anna is currently beyond obsessed with her birthday coming up!  She has gone back and forth about a million times as to what she should do for her party!  Should she invite the class? Or a few girls for nails and jamba juice?  It's a back and forth daily decision and frankly, I think I'll be excited just to have it all over and done with-ha!  But she is so sweet and so cute and I can't wait to celebrate her little self.  Can't believe she'll be six!  Anna continues to love girl scouts and school and playing quietly in her room. She is becoming an awesome reader.  She loves her little friends more than words can say and is constantly talking about them.  Nora is still her favorite.

Grant has had a fun month as well.  I think the highlight might very well be his first ever Pinewood Derby!  So much fun!  He was an absolutely amazing sport.  He didn't end up in the final 8  (28 boys total competed) but he felt pretty good about his car and performance.  Grant is a fantastic kid in every way.  I adore him.  He is always up for anything and everything and tries his best at all he does.  Lately, the boys have been working hard on soccer drills in the backyard.  Blake ordered cones and they work for 40 minutes a day since there is a break from soccer practice.  Love Grant's zest for life and his dedication to sports.  This month, Grant has been working on a Bio Buddy project.  He picked Abe Lincoln and gets to dress up like him and present his report.  We ordered him a hat and beard and he's thrilled.  Kid is never embarrassed of anything.  And such a good sport-- he helps at Anna's girl scout troop and is usually just absolutely fine to go along with whatever activity we have planned.  Grant has made new friends in his class and their parents frequently call and ask for him to play.  Love that Grant is a good friend.  Loved watching him on his field trip with all of his friends.  He is one and million.  He didn't mind my purple hair.

Dane has had a pretty low key month as far as sports goes.  He's enjoyed the break.  He loved attending a campout with Blake at Carlsbad State Beach with the deacons from our ward.  Nervous to go, when he came back, he told me that he felt so grown up and that the boys really liked him and included him.  I have a feeling this won't be the first time I have to push him to do something which he later ends up enjoying!  But so happy that Dane is gaining confidence and enjoying his break from soccer.  This month Dane did the Biztown course.  He interviewed and studied all about various jobs and then was selected to be the CEO/CFO of ABC Construction at Biztown.  A lot of responsibility.  I was thrilled to be next door at State Farm insurance and to watch him up close as he worked hard and showed a tremendous amount of responsibility.  He even gave a 30 second speech!  What an awesome experience and awesome kid.  Dane is funny, bright, interesting, kind and one of my favorite people on earth.

Ev continues to work as hard as ever-- reaching the home stretch in Beauty and the Beast!  Less then 3 weeks away!!  It's been so much fun and also a little stressful for her, of course!  Over spring break, Evelyn enjoyed trying on her yellow dress, and library dress! Picking up her wigs and the two of us learning how to put in pin curls all over her head- ha!  Evelyn mostly relaxed for the week.  We spent one morning watching Pitch Perfect and eating açaí bowls, we shopped for make up, visited Brandy Melville down in Pacific Beach- her favorite shop, we walked along Mission Beach boardwalk and rode scary rides!  We went out to lunch, hung around the house, Evelyn roller skated with a friend.  It was really nice to have her home for the week and we enjoyed it!  And now for the crazy to begin.  We ordered a humidifier, and she has vowed not to eat sugar for the next three weeks.  We must keep this girl healthy and ready to perform!!!!!  So excited for my little star:)
