As always, a bittersweet day for mom! Funny, at the beginning of summer I was
so overwhelmed with all four kiddies home all day long! I remember telling
Blake that I’d never make it through till Fall!
But then I adjusted to the chaos; I gave in to the fact that I’d probably not keep a tidy
house, make fancy meals, or respond to email every day. And once I surrendered those goals, I
actually started to enjoy our lazy summer days. Waking late, swimming, meeting up with friends, vacationing,
baking cookies, coloring, staying up late.
Ironically, now
I’m feeling overwhelmed again, but this time with the schedule school brings
about! Lots of driving, waking
early, homework, after school sports.
It’s a little much and I feel as though my time is spread too thin
amongst my four. But, alas….I’m
sure I will adjust soon. One thing
I know for sure… I do love my four little babies. And I miss Evy and Dane when they are not here at home with
me.

Highland Ranch Elementary
Grant's preschool didn't start until 11:30... so he was literally bursting with excitement (as you can see) for his turn to FINALLY go off to school. No tears-- not even a wave good bye! He was ready to face the world alone-- and that's pretty much been my little boy's personality from the very start.
Dane, on the other hand... he wished school wasn't so dang long. Shoot, can't blame the kid!
He's kind of a homebody.
I think he really missed his mom and for sure his little sis.
