My friend, Maren and I put on our second "Favorite Things" party last week and this time the theme was all about gift giving. We explained to our guests that their offering should be a type of gift.... either for a friend, a co-worker, a neighbor or teacher. It could be an item they enjoyed giving or receiving, the only criteria being that they had to
love it. Invitations were hand crafted and delivered to guests doorsteps in a cute little box-- all wrapped in baker's twine. Party favors were gift boxes wrapped in fabric bows stuffed with all sorts of wrapping goods... gift tags, twine, bags, small boxes, etc. Such a fun night! We kept the food simple by filling my anthro bowls with cute little snack foods as appetizers. Instead of plates, we used darling polka dotted bags; guests scooped a few snacks into their bags then headed to the living room to chat. For dessert, we baked pumpkin cookies in disposable baking cups and then topped the cookie with ice cream and fudge/caramel sauce. It was delicious! Many wonderful ideas were shared and it was a fun little event.
PS... anything cute you see re food display, party favors, dipped spoons, etc are all the doing of my friend Maren. She is remarkably talented!
