But I must say, even without the traditional fall colors and temps, I've enjoyed living in San Diego during this time of year very much. It's nice to enjoy soccer games in the 70's and to play at the park or pool depending on range of temps. And we've even found a darling little pumpkin patch only 30 minutes inland... called Bates Nut Farm. Beautiful scenery, plentiful pumpkins, corn maze, hay rides, kettle corn, pony rides, the works.
And anyway, No matter where we are, I think my favorite part of our visit to the pumpkin patch must certainly be watching my children decide upon a pumpkin. They are such interesting little people (and I'm not biased in the least). Most of them have a plan in mind beforehand. They know what they want. Evelyn decides upon 3 to 4 little pumpkins to paint. Dane has obsessed over finding the biggest pumpkin he possibly can; then settles on one that Mom and Dad can afford, yet is still big enough.
And Grant runs about from pumpkin to pumpkin picking out ten to twelve possible choices, yet forgetting the whole purpose of the visit when he sees the treats at the front counter. Couldn't really care less about the whole thing! A fun family day without a doubt... and if you can believe it, I actually brought my camera!
