Pirate Day

Grandma and Grandpa did it again! The kids were absolutely thrilled to receive an invitation last month for a fun filled "pirate day!"  Of course, pirate names were a big hit:  Emerald Beard Evelyn, Dead-Eye Dane, Gold Piece Grant, and Iron Anchor Anna. And the kids were thrilled to wear their pirate outfits that Grandma had sent down with me prior.  So cute!!  Upon arrival, we discovered Grandma and Grandpa completely outfitted in pirate gear and it was just too funny!  The kids had a blast going from one activity to another.... learning to tie knots with Grandpa, pirate mad libs with Grandma, among other things.  Biggest hit was for sure "walking the plank" into the pool!!! Well, that and of course the amazing treasure hunt in which all three were spoiled rotten with pajamas, clothes, pillow cases, books, etc!  Pirate food, swimming, diving for gold and fun times filled the rest of the day.   It was so special and we were indeed grateful to Grandma and Grandpa for all of the love, planning and work that went into the day.  Will not soon be forgotten!!
