Hard to believe it's been four years since darling Grant entered our world and then spiced it up in every way possibly. I remember like it was yesterday... hoping with all my heart that Grant would arrive before Halloween-- our last Halloween in Brooklyn! I wanted to be able to do all of the fun festivities in our neighborhood and didn't want to be cooped up in the hospital!
Well, Grant didn't disappoint-- he arrived a perfect three days before Halloween! What fun we had that Fall/Winter with the sweetest little baby boy on earth attached to our bodies via the Ergo, walking all around Brooklyn and Manhattan, playing in the leaves, walking the Haunted Forest, taking the subway to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree, and Bryant Park craft fair. I felt famous with all the stares and glances my way-- daring to brave THREE kids in the Big Apple. It was such a special time of life and we couldn't have asked for a sweeter little baby boy.
Then toddlerhood approached and life got a tad more challenging. The sheer energy level of our little guy made for a chaotic year or two, but then again, I wouldn't have it any other way. He kept me on my toes for a few years, but then rounded the corner to become the apple of my eye.
Love his enthusiasm for life... the sparkle in his eye, boundless energy, happy optimistic nature, fun-loving personality, fearless heart, beautiful little singing voice and total and full confidence in himself. He is just one of a kind and a very special part of our family. Wish he liked to cuddle more.... but he's far too busy for that sort of thing.
Far too busy looking for crickets or spiders, racing his cars, setting up his imaginext toys, playing handball in the garage with Dane, playing soccer out back with Dane, smiling that winning smile, coloring, painting, buttering his own toast, watching Team Umi-Zoomi or Bubble Guppies, babysitting Anna for a small fee, helping take out the trash or bring in the groceries, and singing loudly all the while.
We love our little boy more than words can say. He brings a smile to our faces on a constant basis and we are so blessed to have him in our family!
Today, I'm grateful for this sound.
