It’s been an exciting season to say the least. I can’t say enough the amount of fun we’ve had watching our two boys play soccer. They gave it their all 100 percent of the time and impressed us beyond measure in each and every game. Grant was a year younger than most on his team, and yet he approached every game with a winning attitude and an aggressive outlook. He was a huge asset to his team and we all discovered that sports will probably play a major role in this kid’s life. Not because he’s so good (which he is), but because he loves it so very much. He looked forward to practice and games with as much anticipation as his own birthday. Fun, fun times!
And Dane... what can I say? Although less aggressive than Grant, the boy has skills. He worked hard all season, practicing on his own in the garage, watching soccer on TV any chance he got, and really focusing on the small details of his game. By the end of the season, he was practically a pro (I’m not biased at all) but really! He was so good and his team won the championship for his division! You can bet Dane was SO pleased! He even wore his medal to church the next day! As his parent, I could tell that Dane put a lot of stress and pressure on himself to win and score. That part made me a little nervous. We want him to enjoy the game and not feel so worried about the outcome. So, we’ll pull together and work on that before next season. That little guy is something else and we are so proud of him!
