Evelyn’s days consist of singing LOUDLY, ever practicing her vibrato; dutifully practicing the piano and accomplishing her homework before watching Hannah Montanna or Liv and Maddy on Disney channel; two nights a week of gymnastics in which she is advancing nicely! She is so proud of the fact that she can now do an areal! Other interests include hair styling, and rainbow looming. She is very concerned about friends— even at this young of an age and spends a lot of time talking to me about the kids at school. That isn’t such a big surprise as she has always been quite social, but it is a small glimpse into the future. A future where she may not be as interested in “hanging out” with family! I sure hope that is far off… but something tells me she may be kind of a tricky teen because of her high social needs. Yikes!
Dane spends most of his days in the garage playing handball or soccer. He and Grant are best of friends and they truly love playing together and rarely fight. It is so nice for me! When he isn’t playing sports, he’s racing hot wheels in the third car garage or he is playing with Anna who is his favorite little person ever. Dane is so good at following directions. He certainly doesn’t enjoy reading every day, but he will do so with little complaint! He loves to help in the kitchen and loves to be with Dad. The basketball season brought out some anxiety for Dane. He’d never played basketball, didn’t know any boys on his team and so was understandably nervous. But we have been THRILLED to see Dane dive in and work hard. His head is in the game and he is enjoying it so much. He practices shooting every day and he is quite coordinated despite his lack of experience out there amongst the other boys. Best part is the fact that he loves it and that he is not worried— or I should say obsessed with winning as he was during soccer season. Thankfully!
Grant has turned the corner in a major way lately. Oh man… he is just absolutely darling, a good 85 % of the time. He can still have a temper tantrum here and there, and when he does, OOOOh boy! But I blame that on the fact that he doesn’t get enough sleep. He believes himself to be older than he is and no one can tell him otherwise. He just LOVES being a big kid! It’s been so nice lately that he is able to dress himself, make his bed, get his own cereal in the morning, play with Anna and just be quite independent. And plus, his little face is just too cute to stand! He despises kisses and that is a bummer for me…. but he does love hugs. His favorite show is “sofia the first.” A princess show? yes, but he’s confident enough in his manhood to allow for this. We could not be more excited to watch his little self out there on the basketball court. He is the youngest by at least a year, and by no means the shining star of the team… but he loves it and he LIVES for the games and practices. He puts his whole heart and soul into these games and it is fun for Blake and I to watch.
Anna has also turned the corner the past few months. She is talking up a storm and oh my goodness! Is she ever the cutest little girl on earth. FAVORITE thing for me to watch is her riding her little scooter around the house saying “weeeeee”. It’s awesome. Also love watching her putting babies to bed, strolling babies around the house, keeping close tabs on her Elsa dolls (she has two) whom she insists on sleeping with. She just loves Frozen— and I believe that’s because her older sister loves Frozen. Anna has learned to express herself through facial expressions— so cute. She can give “mean” looks, “happy” looks, “sad” looks! She just may be as dramatic as Evelyn! She loves music and outdoors. Loves to be anywhere near her older sibs. Loves to color and get into mischief. Best little sleeper and best little companion on errands. Doesn’t cause me a moment of stress! A joy to all of
us!
