We had such a fun weekend celebrating Dane’s big day. On Friday, he invited just a few close friends over for a Lego playdate where the kids had a blast playing handball, jumping on the trampoline and then engaging in a few lego games/activities. The highlights were coloring their own lego man/woman to look like themselves, Don’t Eat Pete- lego edition! Lego Bingo, Guessing how many legos were in the jar, and creating their own yummy lego snack from graham crackers, frosting and skittles! Of course the highlight for sure was receiving their own small lego toy to assemble. So cute to watch how excited each child was for this little treat! I think age seven must really be the best year for legos! Dane sure was thrilled.
On Saturday, our family spent the day continuing the celebration! Dane was so excited to open gifts from Evelyn (rainbow loom snake and ankle bracelets) and Grant (his prized sea shell). He also opened a few lego sets and his special photo book. A favorite gift for certain….Dane could not believe a card that read he would get to go to the pet store and pick out a beta fish! And so began an eventful day of fun activities which included a family soccer game, a trip to the pet store, AND a trip to Toys R Us for a new bike! The bike was a gift from Grammy and Papa as well as Mom and Dad. He was so grateful and so excited!!! Then home to FaceTime Grammy and Papa and enjoy his special request for an oreo ice cream cake! I’m pretty certain our little guy felt loved and honored, as he should:) It was such a great day.
