I love February! It’s so great to celebrate the season of love with my husband and little kiddos! I’m thrilled with a couple of traditions we share… very simple, but definitely keep the spirit of love alive in our home! First, is the heart attack! We've done this for three years now.... the first Sunday of February, we all sit down and write a little love note to everyone in the family. Then I tape them up all around the kitchen for all to see throughout the month. It takes no more than 20 minutes to write out these notes, and yet the whole month is happy, seeing these hearts every day! Love it!
Another tradition we’ve kept with the past few years is our jar of service hearts. Each morning the kids pick out a heart and attempt to carry out the service indicated on the back. Small things like: make the bed for your brother or sister, pick up your toys without being asked, write a note to your teacher today, give extra hugs and kisses all day. SO easy, but so much fun!
Of course, on Valentine’s day I love to create a trail of paper hearts from the kids’ rooms to a certain hiding spot downstairs where they find a small and simple heart of chocolates. So easy, but a really fun little way to make the day special. This year we’ve also found a cute link for a scripture about love to read every morning throughout the month. It’s so nice that two of the kids can read now and thrill in that responsibility! Very sweet! Happy February!
